We in went in to Goudy to make a deal on a CR-V. We also had a “clunker” to trade-in. We had already been to several other dealers so we already knew how much to pay. We tried to get it without the dealer added options of paint sealant and fabric protection. Since these options have not been put on the car yet we should be able to easily negotiate these out. Not so, says Art Cheng. "Every car we sell has to have these options." Okay fine, we believed him. We paid for it.
While I was signing all the paperwork with the documentation lady, my wife was inspecting the car. She calls me to say that the sealant did not look too good, even in the bad lighting there late at night. She said that Art told her that the sealant would also protect the paint from bird droppings. The documentation lady overheard my conversation and said that the warranty specifically states that damage from bird droppings is excluded and that the salesman is wrong and should be retrained. I left the documents half signed to see Art. I tell him that I believe that the paint sealant and fabric protection have not applied. He checks with the porter while I continue signing the documents. He comes back with a work order to have it “redone” in a few days, in our presence if we so desired. The lady then asks Art whether to give me the warranty since she thought these options were not part of the transaction. WE FEEL TOTALLY SCAMMED.
The next day at home I notice that the adhesive residue from the white plastic sheeting that was put on at the factory to protect the paint during transit, was still visible. Apparently the porter only washed the car and armor-all’d the tires to remove the dust from the storage lot. Art never intended to have the options applied and the warranty given to us even though we agreed to pay for it.
DON’T EVER TRUST ART CHENG AT GOUDY HONDA!

Excellent Dealership!!! This dealership is trained to LIE!!! Many of the good comments are written by Art Cheng. Anyone interested in a vehicle, don't deal with Art. Get of the Cheng Gang. There are other salesperson that are willing to make an honest sale. Where do all these bad ratings come from? They come from people like me who have been victimized. I am still upset about my whole experience. :(

I did not buy my CR-V at Goudy, however I did have a very good experience with Art Cheng. I had done a lot of research so I was aware of what was reasonable and what was not. Because of Art's offer to me, I was actually able to get a great deal at another dealership. Had it not been for time constraints I would have gone and purchased the car from Goudy. Personally, I found Art to be very upfront (as upfront as a sales person can be), very polite, and extremely helpful - even after he became aware that I was not going to purchase my vehicle from him. If it hadn't been for Art's persistence I would not have gotten such a great deal on my car. Much appreciation, Karin S.

i just happen to read these comments, i was up the street from Goudy on friday. i went to watch the movie Fireproof with Kirk Cameron; it is such a good movie. i recommend it to all! I noticed the last guy mentioned a lot of the things that i read on the bible, they are biblical principles. it is true, if you just obey the word you will see the miracles in sales.

Art Cheng(internet Mgr) was my contact. I will take my business elsewhere. I have his emails which sate $500 over invoice re CIvic 2008 or 2009-(he did not say) and when I sought clarification. He said He can only sell at MSRP. Bad experience I told him and for that he inferred I accused him of "bad business" and "false accusation"! I will let general msg know. Listen Pal, credit is not the problem. My credit is welcomed anywhere I go! I am a happy owner of 2009 Honda Accord which I bought with ZERO down. I figured that the internet department was an excellent ideal. Credit is not the problem, the problem was getting a run around from an individual who was pretending to be another sales person from the internet department, he used the name Victor Acuna and he never was Victor, he was Art Cheng. Art emailed me a few times pretending to be Victor and it ends up that Victor Acuna was on vacation. I decided to work with Art Cheng, finally considering that i was told that the internet department was the best way to go, Art gave me the run around, the first time is understandable, the second time, sounds very wierd, the third just does not seem right. That gives Goudy Honda in Alhambra a bad name. The rest of the guys don't deserve this, or do they? So don't be telling me that there may be something wrong with my credit!!!!! I understand that credit is an issue with many of us, but credit was not the case. This is my side and I am not venting, I just want people to be more careful with people like Art Cheng. I am more than sure that Goudy Alhambra is an awesome dealership, but after getting the run around I figured my $$$$$ or credit is not good enough. As a matter of a fact, we just another car last weekend and it was a 2008 Honda Civic, this time I bought it cash; I hate having two car payments.

We just bought a CRV LX from Goudy Honda. Spent 2 1/2 hour negotiated for what we think is a great deal. I'm surprise to see so many bad comments from the same individual here posted in this forum. My take is to submit for another internet request to see if someone else rather than this dealership to see if somene can land you a car. It sure sounds like you really need help with this new car search. If the credit is an issue, you should find a co-signer instead of venting in the forum looking for a miracle. It is just unbelievable for someone in sales to ignore ur request unless you are unfinanceable or better yet perhaps s/he is looking to land you a deal with the subprime lender. Now if you are denied by the subprime lender, I suggest you rebuild your credit and start paying off some of your bad debts if there is one. It sure doesn't help if your situation carry a negative equity with your trade-in. Not sure of your situation but just a food for thoughts!

Listen to all, Art is not the guy to deal with!!! i read the comment that the last guy wrote and i think it's a fake comment. just by reading it i know it had to be Art Cheng himself. he is trying to make up for all the bad comments or may i say the truth that people are telling about him. i had my hopes up with him and i don't even want to think of all the TRUE LIES he told me. there are many other sales guys who would take your business and be thankful. sorry to say this ART, i still have anger for lying to me, i want you out because you made everything seem honest but in reality you have hurt many people and burned many bridges and you do not care.

I just leased an Odyssey from Art/Internet Dept and everything went as expected. I submitted the lead through edmunds and worked with Art over the phone. Art gave me the best deal and an assurance that there will be no games attached to the deal. When I was there, true to his word the salesperson in Internet Dept "Chay" did a phenomenal job demonstrating the car to me and my wife. We really appreciate this no hassle deal. Highly recommended!

I got my brand new honda accord 08 coupe from Goudy Honda. The only thing good about goudy honda is their price. Goudy Honda didn't put the front license plate fram on my car and when i figured it out i called my sales person "ART CHENG" he was so rude to me over the phone and hung up on me twice saying that he was busy. It was then i got in contact with customer relations to help get my license plate frame. I think Goudy Honda should really train their sales representatives on how to manage relations with their customers. Moreover, ART promised me price verbally and i drove from thousand oaks to alhambra to finalize the deal, he didn't even remember what deal he offered me and was demanding for more money. From my experience don't trust Goudy Honda. Worst in the world. Liars. I felt cheated!!

Bought a 2008 CRV, getting a price on the internet was sort of a moving target then when all was said and done they needed another $500 because this car was in short supply. I have purchased from them in the past because their price was the best. However the car was not ready when I arrived to buy it, I paid for it in full and it still took over 3 hours! I have owned 4 hondas in the past 25 years and each one was so hard to deal with. Why does Honda make it such a trial to buy a car?

My review is for the service department only. I went there for the 100,000 mile service on my accord. I ended up spending $1400 after all was said and done. The day I picked the car up, the check engine light went on. When I called the dealership about it, immediately the service rep (Erine) went on about a $95 inspection fee and how, if the problem wasn't related to the work I just had done on it, I would have to pay. Blah blah blah. When I mentioned that my car was there 2 days ago, and how I just spent $1400, he still made a point of how I might owe them more money, even if I didn't have any work done on my car. It wasn't until I kept making a stink that he said my balance was $0, because, yes, it probably had to do with the service I just had done. THE CUSTOMER SERVICE AT THIS DEALERSHIP HAS REALLY GONE DOWNHILL!!

Contacted Goudy to get a quote for a lease on a 08 Odyssey EX with the info on my trade.
Their internet department (Art Cheng and Victor Acuna) start out by telling me my terminology is incorrect even though they know exactly what I'm talking about, then proceed to tell me that it is in my best interest to come in to get the most "accurate" price. This is for a stupid price estimate from their internet department.. If I wanted to bullshit with a salesman I would've fricken driven there.
Bottom line, difficult to deal with, slow as hell to respond, just tries to get you to show up there so they can try to brainwash you..
I would definitely avoid this place at ALL costs..

Best Internet Price On Civic among all local dealers. Paid Cash, no financing needed so can't rate that. Good salesman, but was slow in completing the paperwork and had to return to get second key. No trade or service so can't rate them. They lost a credit card recept requiring some calling to fix. Otherwise, a good experience compared to the other dealers in the area. Polite and always nice. I am not sure why all the other ratings are so low, but we were happy.

This was the fourth dealership I went to because I wanted the 08 Accord Sedan EX-L V6 with Navi in Silver with grey leather interior. The default interior color is black so finding it in this configuration was difficult.
First off, the sales person (York) greeted me and proceeds to ask me what I was looking for. I told exactly as stated above. Then he asked my expected price range. I said I would like $28,000 out the door (I know this is low and that I wasn't going to get it at that price but I needed to start somewhere). He basically laughed in my face and said that I'm crazy and that I need to be more realistic. Fair enough, but then he proceeds to give me this speech that "you're here to buy a car and I'm here to sell it to you. I'm not here to play games, and if you are then don't waste your time and mine."
I was stunned that a sales person would say such a thing with that snotty attitude. But I really wanted to buy the car so I let that slide and said that I'm willing to buy the car at the spot if he had it in stock. He proceeds to say that I need to be more realistic with the pricing and that $31K - $32K out the door is more in line. So I said OK, we can negotiate. He ask to get my contact info and he'll call me back. But never did.
I eventually found one in Honda of Pasadena and ended up getting it for $31K out the door ($28,600 before taxes and fees). Had York at Goudy Honda been more friendly and patient, he would've gotten a sale at the price THEY were asking for. What a jerk. Avoid Goudy and their staff at all costs.

took forever to fix the scarth for my new car. the finance guy was very rude..argh. and my sales person never call me back when I ask to fixed the scrath, thank God there's costumer realtion person who called me a week after. so it fixed already but it still took forever to get everything right. and btw the scrathes were already there whe i got the car. :(

I couldn't get a salesperson to help me while walking around the lot. Service is horrible and there is a huge wait for their service center.

Some of the staffs in their service department have very bad attitutes.
Although I have met a few excellent service writer at Goudy, but unfortunately some of them are working for another dealer now.
